Märklin Z layout #6.2.9 converted into 1:450
Märklin Z layout #6.2.9 converted into 1:450
Hello,
I decided to convert the Märklin layout „Hauptbahnhof und Nebenbahnhof“ 6.2.9 of Gleisanlagen-Buch Z into scale 1:450.
The turntable has just be done like this
and has to be finished by adding electronic, motor, gear and accessories.
The Märklin arch bridge 8975, straight ramp 8976 and curved ramp 8977 are just under CAD construction and will be printed soon.
BR,
Siegfried

Wow, the turntable looks impressive! Do you have the necessary machine available?
I would actually fresh up the layout a little bit and at least avoid tracks in parallel to the layout edges. Do you plan to use Eishido points?
Cheers

Yes, I´m planning to use Eishido points.
But I´m very sure that I´ll have to programm an ATINY13 to controll the motor.
My aim is to make the Eishido points compatible to Märklin Z points

Siegfried

Hello,
the CAD construction of Märklin arch bridge 8975, straight ramp 8976 and curved ramp 8977 have just been finished.
Now I´m looking for best 3D printing service to get real parts in scale 1:450.

Hi,
the station plattform from KIBRI #36720 ("Bad Nauheim" scale 1:220) was scanned, scaled down to 1:450 und printed.
I have to use a microscope to color it and I think it will take a lot of time to finish

Märklin Roundhouse #8983 at scale ratio 1/220 has been scanned with a 3D scanner, down scaled at ratio 1/450 and printed for use at my t-gauge layout.
To get sharpest and finest window grates they were printed separately, painted and glued on the facade
Pls, notice: dimensions are mm not inch

Brilliant roundhouse! Will you share the stl file or post on Shapeways? I'm sure other modelers would like one!
Re: Märklin Z layout #6.2.9 converted into 1:450
I´m pretty sure that it´s not legal to make my copy public - sorry.
Re: Märklin Z layout #6.2.9 converted into 1:450
Ahh, yes, since it's a scan. No worries, still looks fantastic!
Re: Märklin Z layout #6.2.9 converted into 1:450
That's an interesting point re IP and 3d scanning....it could easily reach a similar status as "zone 51" with all the discussions...
Here's one interesting article that probably sums up the current situation: https://www.wipo.int/wipo_magazine/en/2 ... _0006.html

Completing t-gauge roundhouse a turning platform will be added.
First test of turning platform at t-gauge scale 1/450 with steam locomotive BR01 you can find on my YouTube channel

That turntable is great! I'm contemplating a small engine terminal display and would like one. Is it a worm gear drive?

The turntable is beautifully done. How are you controlling it?
