UK Stock?

Following on from my first post here (hello everyone, by the way!) I thought I would pick up on my own point about having more spare money than spare time at the moment.

So is there anyone out there willing to make some UK rolling stock for me, which I would gladly pay you for. I've seen Class 42 Warships, Class 55 Deltics and (I think) Class 67s too. Any of those would be awesome! Or multiple units would be fine too. Let me know

I have plans to create some UK stock. I really want to try some 4 wheel wagons - not sure if they will work but I do plan to give them a try. Also possibly some container wagons - I think I could make these with containers and bogies as a 3d print, but couplers may be more tricky. Knowing myself, I do not expect these to be ready all that soon, but I am working on them and will post to the forum anything that looks successful and add it to my shop.

Hi Matt,

There's quite a bit out there, you just have to know where to look

There are several guys on shapeways who have made stuff available (me included although they're not quite ready for sale yet.... https://www.shapeways.com/designer/matt_d10) and then there are the electra vinyls for a range of DMU's + EMU's too.

Most of these just require a touch of paint and a bit of a clean up to fit a motorised chassis!

Hey Neil and Matt, thanks for the info

Both of your stuff looks pretty good to me...BUT the assembling, motorising and painting/decals is still beyond my ham-fisted modelling abilities AND like I said I'm really short of time so I know they end up sat unpainted in a drawer for yonks

Basically I just need the finished product RTR...

Go to T gauge and there is a fairly large range of modern image. Simply stick on to a clear body shell! Pretty much the next best thing to RTR.

I've ordered some 153 and 313 vinyls...if they come out nicely then that will triple my T gauge fleet

Still need locos though...

You seem quite keen to freely produce rolling stock on request for members of this forum.

Perhaps you could post some photos of the T gauge locos/rolling stock you have already produced so we can see what you're capable of. If you've not got any T stock done, perhaps you could post photos of what you have done in other scales.

Sorry, nothing physical as yet as I'm mostly caught up with college and dad has been busy back home. Not much progress since he is the sole source for any money transactions. Too small to have a credit card (also the reason why I am doing it free, it's our hobby as well). I am starting work on my first T gauge products which does have both British and Indian stock. Will post updates soon.

It looks like you are off to a great start in designing some great TGauge products! Keep up the great work. Also, please look at some American locomotives as the market will expand as more of us in the US discover this wonderful scale!

I surely will, could you be kind enough to actually give me a list of models you would like to see? Please remember that all my locos are designed as non-powered models so as to be true to scale. I prefer having a powered coach or wagon to be used as a source of power. Do post your wishlist or PM me if you want. I can see what is possible to do.

Would love to see any American Steam locomotives. I do not have a problem with using a coach for power. I would add a light to the engine so it would look like it was powered when running!

The K4 or 4 6 2 Pacific would be great, but why not go for the crazy cool project, the Big Boy. How neat would that be in TGauge!

A Big Boy would look terrific in T, as would any steam loco and some of British outline are available on Shapeways, but how do you give the impression of moving connecting rods? I'm no expert here but I suspect that the scale is too small to have connecting rods that actually move, so perhaps we have to think like Impressionist painters and give the impression we want even if close up that's not the reality. And if anyone can come up with a Merchant Navy, King, Duchess or A4 that looks realistic when moving I'll buy!

That'll be Alan Ramsey at TGauge.com. We'll have to find out how he's getting on with that project....

And of course we all know that steam locos at this scale are "old hat".

It would be so cool to have a locomotive with moving wheels and connecting rods. A great challenge for manufactures. I did see that TGauge,com is working on one, and I think it will be a big boost to the popularity of TGauge when it is released!

However, even a American steam locomotive like the Big Boy with static scale wheels would be great at this time. I purchased one of OzRailwaysTstuff's Flying Scotsman locomotives from Shapeways. It looks like a great model. I did see a video of the model running, buy have yet to see any static pictures of the completed engine. Does anyone have any photos of the completed model? From the video you do not notice the scale wheels not turning, but I am wondering how it looks in person running on the layout.
