North American Rolling Stock Hopper Wagons

Post by Nutter »

I see some of our designers have some hopper wagons on shapeways, would it be possible to do one with an add on to turn it into a grain hopper - could just be a top cover to go with their existing product.

That's something I could do, but I haven't been producing too many new models. I can post a link when it's done.

So just a heads up. I modeled the cars and am in the process of posting them to shapeways. I contacted shapeways because the cost of them was 3 times what similar models cost and they told me that shapeways is raising the rates on models. Older models are grandfathered in but only until January 31st. So when I get home I'll post the model, but just a heads up to anyone buying on shapeways, if you want a model, it's best to buy before the end of January.

Hey Mike, since I'm a Chessie modeler and was interested in the ACF 2-bay as pictured--they were used for sand and cement and other dry bulk products--I'll make up one of them as well. Also, since it's not much different than the ACF 3-bay (just shorter) I'll probably make up that to boot--those were used primarily for grain. The 3-bay *might* work for holding a powered mechanism as well...
