Hi

Did you mean from Pivot from boggie to the other boggie on the same 23m chasis or the space between the inner wheels?

Regards
Graham :D

Distance between truck centers in US parlance. I think what you're calling a "pivot" ie. the pin on which the bogie pivots. Same as the distance between center of the truck bolsters.

I make it 36.7 mm between centres of the bogie pivot screws.

Thought the group would like to see how the 23M chassis fits the RDC-1. Not technically accurate since the prototype is 68 feet and the T-gauge chassis works out to be about 54 feet on truck centers.. but it's ok. I'm going to try stretch the chassis to prototype length; it shouldn't be too difficult.

Interestingly, the RDC-4 model was 56 foot truck centers.. That would be an easy job to modify the RDC1 model so I'll have to get to it.

Finally, here's a tiny horn I designed to fit on some of these models. It is soooooo tiny as to be a bit ridiculous to work with but I think it generally looks good--better than a bare roof anyway even if a bit over-size for prototype.

Jesse

Any chance of another shot of this RDC-1 showing the underside of the body and the coupling mountings? I'm going to need a similar arrangement for the Hitachi 801/2 sets that run on the GWR metals over the Bridges at Saltash....as can be seen in this image:

Certainly! :D

I made extended couplers using the Shapeways "professional plastic". I'm still working to perfect them, so not selling them yet but you could design similar. The plastic is strong enough however to bear use--this is a good thing--even though not very detailed.
