Help please

Post by chadnn »

It has been awhile and am getting into my T again. Would like to know what's the smallest radius I can use with an 8 unit BR Inter-City 125. Thanks.

As far as my usage of the 125 is concerned, the set will comfortably cope with all of the standard track section radii...that is right down to 120mm radius....which I consider to be about the tightest you can run long wheelbase stock (like the coaches on the 125 set).

Note that what is as equally important is what the curve interfaces into. Straight track is fine, but avoid a reverse curve or points. Both will put too much sideways stress on the consist and result in a derailment.

And another good idea for where you are using flexitrack......try and "ease" the track into a curve. Start with a gentle curve..then tighten up to the desired radius. It doesn't need much.
