Crich Tramway Village

Not a true T gauge layout, but I have been commissioned to create a model of the current site layout of the tramway museum. I'll post some photos of what I'm doing in a few days time....but essentially as part of a display in one of the buildings at the museum there is a fairly crude "map" of the museum site that has a few coloured wooden blocks on that represent buildings.

The museum curator is wanting something a bit better...particularly that after some work over the winter closed period, one building will go, and be replaced with a larger building and the model will no longer be up to date.....and after I did a bit of measuring, I realised a 1:450th scale model would drop into the same space. So, I was asked to create a replacement model.

As its essentially a non-working T gauge layout, I'm going to document its build here......

Managed to get to the museum today to get a shot of the current display...which as you can see, is quite crude:

And here's a shot from Google showing what the real thing looks like from a similar viewing angle:

The model when complete will be protected by a clear acrylic cover.

HI Doug

Good luke with this project even though it is a static model it will still sparkle for people who have still not seen T Gauge 1.450 scale. :D

Just an idea for dummy track - It is actually t -gauge so you could print the odd tram to sit on it ;) Order for one tram here if you do. ;)

No update on this at the moment as there's been no progress.

I've been up to my armpits in other Crich things...like installing & configuring a CRM system to replace an old membership system, covering temporarily for a vacant Membership Secretary role that emerged out of the CRM project, and organising part of the museum's final event of the season. As I reply to this thread, I'm in a hotel in Spalding, where I have The Bridge attending the local model show.

Hopefully I can get back to some T gauge stuff sometime in the next two months......
