Western steam locomotive?

Here's the place for discussions about those 3D creations for Tguage...and lets not forget the trials and tribulations of designing and printing.

Western steam locomotive?

Post by Ponytrain »

Hi

I´m Michelle from Germany- sorry for my bad english ;)

I´m completly new to TGauge (had a H0 starter kit only as child) and the moment I´m planning my first track :D
It should be a "model train" in a diorama.

I´ve looked everywhere but found not what I´m searching for.
I want an old western steam locomotive with coal tender, The General or similar. At it´s best it would fit for the 35,5mm motor. Maybe anyone have printed something like this?

Kind regards
Michelle

As far as I know, there is nothing like that available. While there are a few steam locomotives on Shapeways, the motorized ones are the largest American types from about a hundred years later, and the small British ones are unpowered and need a motorised passenger carriage to push them along.

The loco you are looking for really is too small to motorize in T scale - even in Z (2x larger), it would be a challenge.
