Thanks PetrOs, I was thrown by there being no picture on that page but I've got it now.

I got the 1mm hole ones but I did get a set of axels without the gears so hopefully I'll just need to make the holes bigger.

I had a little time, so I added some more detail to my locomotive. I added a ladder from the TGauge.com valve gear sheet, and some coal to the tender. I used Woodland scenics fine cinders. They seem like the perfect size for coal in this scale!

Uwe,

The video’s in my build thread of my Pennsylvania 4-6-2 show my model runs well using the tender for picking up power. I really have had no issues with drag, but I am only using two magnetic wheels on the front and rear bogies of the tender.

However, I will experiment with picking up power from the main wheels as you suggested.
