A4 MALLARD and PRR S1

Post by MMBUFBerlin »

Hello everyone,

after many German models in T Gauge (I call it "QTT" - "Quarter TT", this term is also much older than "T Gauge", as early as 1996 I have thought of this), I have now built two non-German steam locomotives. And that's why I've looked, if there is still an English speaking T Gauge forum. Since this is the case, I would like to introduce the two steam locomotives here.
They are the A4 MALLARD and the PRR S1. Here are the chassis to see:

here the finished locomotives:

and here, how the S1 was built:

For the S1 I still will build five passenger cars.

Kind regards
Uwe

Uwe,

Beautiful workmanship on your Locomotive designs. Please post some photos of you models. I would like to see how you pick up power on your PPR S1.

Thanks, Joe.

Uwe, First the S1 is magnificent.

Second, if you'd like some PRR coach shells, I made some a few years back and they're still on Shapeways.. The GSC 41-N trucks (bogies) as well but they are not posted. While 3D printed trucks are pretty delicate, I have improved the design and they are quite workable. I will offer them soon. You might want to look at the knuckle coupler.

Hello Jesse, thanks for the offer, but my philosophy is: do it yourself, if it possible! And T Gauge has the advantage that errors are not visible to the naked eye!
I build my cars that way:

I suspected that was the case, as the inventing and building is part of the fun, isn't it! :D I look forward to more updates on your project. - Jesse

Hello Jesse, that's the way it is! No 3D printer takes me this fun! Never!!
I'd like to travel across the USA with the S1 Pennsylvania luxury train, but the Americans just scrapped this one-time Super Locomotive - unbelievable!!
Well, now I'm going to make this trip soon on a very small scale, and you can all travel with me if you want. (-:

Kind regards

You see, you can do it with the most primitive means!

And now, Ladies and Gentlemen, the T Gauge video of the year, nominated for the Oscar in the category "Best T Gauge Model Railway Video Of The Year". (-;
