Post by mattd10 »

Hello guys! This is mainly for the benefit of those of you not on facebook following the offical Tgauge.com page. This was posted earlier...

"If, like us, you weren't lucky enough to visit the recent Tokyo Model Rail Show - JAM, here's a pic of part of the main TGauge stand.
After you've had a chance to look over the pic, what would be your, say Top Five (first being favourite) out of;
1-60mm Radius Loops.
2-Steam Loco Prototype.
3-Shinkansen Zero Series.
4-Japanese EMU.
5-Electrically Operated Points.
6-TGauge in a Matchbox Diorama.
7-DD51 JNR Loco.
8-Crate Freight.
9-Tanker Wagon.
10-95mm x 65mm Diorama.
11-A Business Card of some description."

For me personally, I'm glad to see stuff being done and progress being made. I'm not a steam fan but can't help but be intrigued. It's a shame a new design of points doesn't feature and no mention of the shorter "tram" chassis that we saw a while back which would be perfect for the 60mm radius curves.

I saw the pic on facebook earlier. Lots of good stuff in there. Shame there aren't any close up photos.

The steam loco is very interesting. I've got so many questions for it, is it powered, what wheel arrangement, how feasible will it be to replace the body with a 3d printed UK prototype?

Looking forward to freight wagons too.

By pure guess (based on the scribbled note about it)

The Steam Locomotive is a JNR C62. An 4-6-4 wheel arrangement.

A nice Shinkansen set would do. The series 0 is fine but there are others. Doctor Yellow would be interesting.

Likewise doing something about their points would be more than welcome - turn them electrofrog for instance.

It needs someone else to start manufacturing t-gauge so EInshido faces a little competition!

:)
