Z scale narrow gauge

Hello All

No doubt someone has thought of this before, but if they did their light has been hidden under a bushel. Three millimetres scales out at close to 25" in Z scale, which would (theoretically) make it ideal for 2 ft gauge track. Do any members know if anyone has made suitable loco bodies or rolling stock for what I shall refer to as Zn?

I have not used this scale/gauge combination, but I have thought about it before.

The main problem is the size of the rolling stock and the size of the current chassis. Very few 2ft gauge locos would scale out big enough, and powered wagons would need to be large.
That basically means either South African locos, which were huge, would be the only way to get powered locos.
The only way to get powered stock would be large vehicle like L&B 4 axle wagons.
So yes it is possible, but only if you are going for one of the larger prototypes.

I’ve always wanted to use T for narrow gauge but had the same issues above where short wheelbase stock just isn’t feasible (which most narrow gauge tends to be)
However with the release of the class 08 and the future tiny steam loco arriving from Tgauge.com then maybe it will be possible in the future?

Yes, the new shorter chassis do look promising for this.

However I have worked out what can and can not be done with the chassis currently available, and for what I was wanting to model it looks possible. I need to write up my thoughts and calcualtions on that, hopefully I can check my figures and get them done this afternoon
