Hi folks,
I’ve not been on the forums for a while but the announcement of another RTR model at Warley last weekend has reignited my interest in T gauge.
In case you haven’t seen, the 08 is now available for pre-order and is expected June 2020 - https://www.tgauge.com/product/432/27/t ... 08-shunter
Liveries are yet to be announced, personally I would prefer a livery that fits in with the existing RTR UK stuff (e.g. the BR or GNER HSTs and the EWS 67). I think BR blue would be suitable with the BR HST and of course 08s carried both GNER and EWS livery...
What do you think?

Re: Class 08 - RTR
Hi,
I'm afraid with only three axles this shunter won't run over points - it'll stop.
BR,
Siegfried

Re: Class 08 - RTR
Edit:
the lenght of the dead area in the middle of the electrial ponit is about 18mm
and the total wheelbase of the Class 08 RTR is 2 x 7,89mm = 15,58mm

Re: Class 08 - RTR
I see that as a good thing!
It will increase the pressure on getting new points on the market that will work properly....

Re: Class 08 - RTR
I like the positive thinking Doug
Smooth running over points is quite critical for an 08 I suppose, being mostly yard/sidings based shunters...

Re: Class 08 - RTR
Permanently couple it to a match truck, like BR used to do with the '03' class, install some pick ups in the truck and hey presto 5 axles to collect current and longer than the dead zone.
Re: Class 08 - RTR
Well looks like it's time to retire another of my 3D prints.
Anyway, you could couple two together, and presto Master and Slave formation, 13 class.
12 wheel pick up and double the power?
Although how you would make it look like the cab is missing off one of them might be tricky.
