I’m new to T-Scale and am hoping someone can advise me on the easiest way to couple the carriages & engines.
I’ve read that they don’t auto couple.
I’ve tried various methods but if I get the couplers connected I can’t get the wheels aligned onto the tracks and if I get the wheels mounted I can get the couplers to hook up.
There has to be a simple solution or alternative.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Coupling
Re: Coupling
The answer is "tweezers". After the train is on the rails and coupled up (with some carriages lifted off the track by the couplers), squeeze each pair of couplings together and into proper alignment.
Re: Coupling
I agree with Martin....
Best to put each wagon/loco on the track uncoupled.....gently hold one in place and whilst moving the other wagon, etc up to it, lift the end up slightly so as to allow the coupling move over the coupling of the wagon you're holding. Then use tweezers as Martin has suggested.
Once you've done it a couple of times, it will get easier...… Be confident.....not apprehensive!!

Re: Coupling
Thanks for the advice guys. I might also experiment with some tiny magnets
Re: Coupling
I found some perfect little magnets on eBay, 1mm x 1mm round neodymiums, they have just the right amount of strength an can be separated fairly easily once glued to the coupler.
I removed the hooks and glued (uv glue) the magnet onto the flat part of the remaining coupler. Making sure to get a N - S pole pairing.

I have attached some pics.

Re: Coupling
These look good! Might give them a go myself

Re: Coupling
At supermagnetman.com are very small magnets available:
0.012" (0.3mm) dia x 0.019" (0.5mm) long
0.012" (0.3mm) dia x 0.019" (0.5mm) long
