Re: Newbie here and a CO-CO chassis?

there was a picture of a co-co chassis on facebook a while back... it looked like it was a regular chassis with an extra wheel bolted on the end of each bogie... it's possible to extend chassis by 3d printing a replacement part for the bit the non driving bogie sits on so it doesn't really matter wh...

Re: T Gauge based Zm Layout

Sorry to hear about the A150 strut... definately sounds like blocking in the windows is the way to go. I've had a quick check and the beast will fit on a 16m chassis. The chassis wheelbase is a bit long - about half the short bogie too long and the pivot will be too far forward but I suppose once it...

Re: T Gauge based Zm Layout

I know what you mean about track plans.... I spent my first year deciding on a plan, deciding I didn't like it, ordering a few more bits of track then going back to step one.... Am now going back to something faily simple... maybe a passing loop and a siding... with a little station.... currently fa...

Re: My 'Zm' layout's progress.

Looks great to me Noel!!! I had thought that blocking in the windows on the A80D was a compromise forced on me by shapeways validation being erratic but I think yours looks just as good if not better than the A150D. Shall stop grousing now and see about resising some of my other Nm stuff downwards.....

Re: Building A 3D printed body onto a T Gauge Chassis

Hi Noel, So a 1mm hole is what we're after... shall sort that and use where needed on the next Zm stuff. Your LEDs certainly get the prize for smallest I've ever seen... ( or possibly biggest match ) bit pricey but I suppose most of the price is for soldering the wires on. I had a vague hope that th...

Re: Building A 3D printed body onto a T Gauge Chassis

Hi Noel, seems like a cunning plan with the screw for adjusting the bogie. I guess it would help if the hole were already present in the block to save on the drilling. I've googled 12BA tapping do-dahs and they seem to be 1.05mm in diameter... Is that the size of hole I'd need to add or should be be...

Re: Odd bits I've built.

thanks Mike I was thinking that I could probably widen my point to 4.5mm. they do act sort of like a jig for building themselves. Although it looks like you've got track building covered. I hope the 62 is providing satisfactory service - that remains the most difficult model I've done... the nose to...

Re: Odd bits I've built.

Hi Mike, How is your 4.5mm Zm stuff powered? T rails are wide enough that the proper gauge is somwhere in there... so they might not look too bad against your stock. I'd be very interested to see how you get on with my models ( if you decide to give them a go ) - :) The chassis extension for the A15...

Re: Chassis Extension

Hi Connor, not a lot of progress... the chassis extension works and I've done another Zm model for the small but growing fraternity of Zm modellers out there... 4 at the last count... :) I've got a new airbrush and am hoping that will allow me to get some paint on it and a few of my other unpainted ...

Re: SD70M - Powered

btw....Does the price drop at Shapeways that comes into effect on the 7th help with your print costs?? good news is the price drop only affects WSF and Steel - FUD not affected. bad news is the price only drops on some models... out of 50ish models I've got hanging around in WSF price has gone up o...

Re: Official 3 axle truck motor units!

does look like it's a standard chassis unit with new bogies added on... can't quite decide if it's a 19m or 21m unit...

so with a bit of luck they'll be available as spares to upgrade existing chassis... return of the twangy spring game... :)
