In my totally unbiased opinion, I'd go for the railcar. :)

Re: Zm Beast

I've just ordered a zm beast + a few other bits.... I've done a plug that will fit into the back to cover the coupler hole... planning on using diy wire U shapes for couplers... so I've ordered a Zm covered wagon so I've got something to tow. I'll update when I hear back, I've updated the model on t...

Welcome to my world. :)

I suspect it was to do with the order I uploaded the model and when you looked at it... but I'm just guessing.

I'm now toying with doing the rear buffer as a separate part to give you the choice of on or off....

Re: The Bridge

hard luck Doug.

experimenting can go that way.... the alternative though is to do what I do... i.e. almost nothing... far less productive. :)

wrong thready to say it on but the results with the new nozzle do look good so worth the effort. (Hopefully)

Re: Zm Beast

I need to re-upload the model - the fact that Noel got one demonstrates the vagueries of shapeways validation as the only changes I made were to chop the end off to allow the coupler to poke out. will get it sorted out this evening... appart from anything else shapeways have a free delivery promotio...

Re: Zm Beast

Beast is ready to order... currently scrabbling round for half finished projects to bung into the order to make the postage seem less painful.

Away for the weekend so probably won't get a test print ordered till next week so might have results about the time you're ready to order.

if you do go for a starter set go for the larger radius 132.5mm - the narrower 120mm radius curves are a little too tight for comfort...

Re: T Gauge based Zm Layout

that does make it way cheaper than a printed one from shapeways.... a small Z building I'm working on is about 70 x 40 x 40 mm and is £15.00 so far and needs a few more bits. I've also done a barn that's the same footprint as your station that's about £15 too.. it has no roof the plan being to add...

Re: Zm Beast

Hi Noel, no risk of fuse blowing.... I'm happy for any and all suggestions - it's only when I get a few nudges that I get on with anything. Although as you'll know from previous suggestions there isn't a direct correlation between nudges and activity. But there is a link between no nudges and comple...

Re: UK outline stock

I tried the new detail full colour and was more than a little dissapointed... model was banana shaped, colours were mudy and the detail printing just didn't happen.

They gave me a refund and I haven't tried again.

It may have improved but I wouldn't do too much before you try a print.

Zm Beast

Had a play over the weekend resising my Nm Beast down to Zm. The Beast was the first model I did for someone else quite a while back. My new method of designing models in blender is so much faster than in the olden days that I ended up redoing most of the model - I think the buffers are still origin...

Re: Holding small items for painting, etc....

good idea doug.. my current solution is sticking a lump of folded card in the bottom which isn't ideal. slightly diverging from the point of your post... what colour did you use for the bottom lighter green of the loco in your picture... I keep meaning to do my class 24 in the same scheme but got st...
