Re: How do you draw? - T-size or larger and scale down?

I design at the scale size using blender. That saves the extra step of going round fixing all the bits that end up below the minimum size for printing. I've been playing recently with the solidify modifier in blender - it lets you resize a bit of a model from one scale to another but keeping the wal...

Re: T gauge rail supplier

Hi Doug,

To start with I'd be interested in a couple of bits to see if I could get printed points working with them.

Re: Shapeways poor customer service.

Hi Mike,

when a model is rejected the designer gets an email and you'll be given a credit on the website that you can use next time you buy something.

you can email customer services and they'll refund you.

- at least that's how it worked the last time I tried.

Re: SketchUp (and/or alternatives)

you could take a look at google drive/dropbox etc...

they're automatic and will sync files between different computers...

also when a box dies, once you've installed dropbox etc on the new one all your files arrive.. eventually... :)

Re: Zm Beast

I've gone for the red/cream colour scheme, same as Noels... not sure that's strictly accurate but I had some paint left in the airbrush so on it went... :) Problems with the masking round the nose means there's some touching up to do. Quite pleased though, first time I've managed to get a reasonable...

Re: shapeways print orientation

I remember this coming up a few times in the past and the stock excuse being it would make prints too expensive.. without any discussion of how much more expensive it would be... I don't think this is the only issue either... if your part is printed at the correct orientation but is at the bottom of...

Re: My latest build

fantastic work Noel!

Any details you can provide on the conversion and the chassis would be appreciated... I'm working on one of these in Nm, and HOm, once done I'll be downsizing it to Zm so if you have ideas for anything that would help that could be printed, please let me know.
