Re: we(I) need Tgauge equipment

Would that be my station building you ordered? If so then you must have selected to print in White Stong Flexible (WSF) rather than Frosted Ultra Detail (FUD), because all the sales I have had for this have been in that material. This is the only model where I allowed this choice - in fact it is the...

Re: we(I) need Tgauge equipment

Neil I know it's not prototype but could you put a dump-truck bed on the back of those wonderful looking little snout nosed van things you've been posting lately...(?) They did make a pick up version of the Austin 7 - or at least customer coachbuilders did - but I do not think a dump truck would wo...

Re: Magnetic couplers

A great bit of lateral thinking to just use one magnet per car. Glad you got round the problem. This does mean all rolling stock has to be the correct way round, but on a layout without reversing loops that should not be a problem during normal operation (My 009 rolling stock has this restriction to...

Re: My T gauge addiction

Seconded. As a first class procrastinator I do like to see layouts built to a good level of completion. Anything which can inspire me to actually get on and do something has to be good, and whilst I seem to have no problem turning out parts - wagons, boxcar, road vehicles, buildings etc - actually g...

Re: we(I) need Tgauge equipment

Very impressive, Doug. That shows what your printer is capable of now you have really got the hang of it - am looking forward to seeing what else you will produce.

Re: My T gauge adventure

There is not much activity at all on the forum at the moment, so to add at least one post.... I have modified my Austin 7 saloon model in sketchup (after having plugged the hole in the bonnet which was still showing in the photo above) to convert it to a van. Shapeways rendering still does not like ...

Re: My T gauge adventure

So, no progress on my layout...but I have managed to compete my Austin 7 model. Amazing how small this does come out - having added a painting handle so that I have a chance of holding it the effect is of far more handle than model. This was, as usual, a slow triumph over try to add too much detail ...

Re: My T gauge adventure

Thanks for that info, good to know I have a chance of success. As there are other things I have in mind for an Arduino as well I will get one and give it a try. I already have the circuits and coding in my head for two controllers, one totally digital with push button directions and acceleration/dec...

Re: My T gauge adventure

Again, no updates from me in a while, but reading and then replying to the Lack of Motivation thread really should get me moving again... I am planning to visit Wakefield model railway exhibition at the weekend. That is always a good show, so I do hope to get inspired there. I know this will not be ...

Re: Lack of motivation

Neil, part of my problem I think possibly stems from the result of the exhibition I went to at the end of last month and seeing some incredible layouts. . Whilst I know what you mean here I do always try and look on other layout for inspiration, rather than being put off by the high standard others...

Re: Lack of motivation

I sympathise with where you are coming from, having a bit of the same thing myself. Maybe it is the dark evenings - although these are heralded as 'the modelling time of year' it is so easy to just sit down and watch TV instead! I have had several items 3D printed which I have not got around to pain...

Re: My T gauge adventure

Hi Slarge, Impressive, loving the models, need to finish my traxx loco to pull a few of those. Just a thought, if I may be so bold... Have you considered making a 2part print so the central cill can be glued/clipped/fixed in after I had considered this early on, but must confess I forgot about it la...

Re: My T gauge adventure

OK, as promised, the photos of my latest model, a container wagon with 3 x 20ft containers. Not painted yet, but cleaned so that the prints will at least show up properly. NB the gap between the containers does show up better than it appears in the photo, and I think painting this gap with thinned b...

Re: My T gauge adventure

I am aware that I have not made an update for a while and left you all hanging on the container wagons. Quick update is that the prints were the right size, in that the chassis do fit and they look OK on the track. I had hoped to get some photos up so that you could see how they looked - initially g...

Re: My T gauge addiction

I am watching the work on couplings and uncouplers with interest. All the layouts I have recently built in other scales have been shunting layouts, and whilst I like the ability of T gauge to easily represent a long mainline run I would also like to be able to replicate some of the workings of my sh...

Re: My T gauge adventure

I have just got my complete container wagon prints back today. Initial checks are positive, the print looks good and the coach chassis (cut down) looks to fit right in as it is supposed to. I will not photograph these until I have either washed and primed them, or cleaned them in white spirits, beca...

Re: My T gauge adventure

I did manage to get some of my models ready for printing before the weekend was out - but not as many as I would have hoped. I have two variations of a container wagon which are in for their first print - have high hoped for those so hopefully they will work out! Also I have recreated my test chassi...

Re: My T gauge addiction

Yes, extra feeds are needed to ensure that there are not voltage drops and power losses around the track. Even in larger scales, where there is more contact area in the points, many modeller still add extra switched wiring to feed through the points rather than rely on the point blades for electrica...

Re: My T gauge adventure

I have just received an email from Shapeways saying that there is free postage on all orders this weekend. If you are wanting any items from my shop, or from any of the other T gauge designers on Shapeways, then this could be the time to order as the postage can be a considerable percentage on a sma...
