Re: My T gauge adventure

Neil, I use a lighted magnifier and small brushes all the time to paint T scale models. Fortunately, the Land Rovers look great on the layout without all the magnification. I've always painted the windows first and then trimmed around them. The color I use depends on the color of the body. Dark wind...

Here are Neil's Land Rovers as painted by me. I'm surprised how good they look.....until I take a really close up picture.

Re: The Warrior Express

I'm back from the Warrior Express. There were only 5 layouts there including my Z scale and my T scale. While people always enjoy my Z scale they were simply amazed by the t gauge layout. I was told that I'm now certifiably crazy... but some of us already knew that. The trains ran fairly well all da...

Re: T&W (Triplett & Western)

Thank you for your kind words. I have been busy. The T scale layout will make it's debut this Saturday at a local show. The airport items were given to me by a N scaler who received it from someone who thought it would go with his trains. That is a Connie.....people recognize it quickly. I believe t...

Re: T&W (Triplett & Western)

Here is the T Scale layout as it will appear at a show this Saturday. I still need to add people and autos but it will be good enough for it's debut. This will be the first serious T Gauge layout at a show in the St. Louis, MO area.

Re: My T gauge adventure

BoxcarBottom.jpg This is what the bottom looks like. I did need to trim the top of the bogie mount and some around the sides. The adjustable chassis or any of the chassis that use the simple post bogie mount should work. I don't primer any of my models unless I plan to use a paint that would react ...

Re: My T gauge adventure

I cut up 2 of the 20m non-motorized chassis. I used just enough to fill the areas on the ends. They work well without added weight in the short train I'm running now.

The Warrior Express

My T layout the Triplett & Western will make it's debut at The Warrior Express train show from 10am until 3pm February 14, 2015. The show will be at the Fox High School 751 Jeffco Blvd. in Arnold, Missouri 63010. There will be 2 gymnasiums full of trains and vendors. I'll have both my T layout and Z...

Re: My T gauge adventure

Hi Neil, I'm the one who ordered your boxcars. I've been working with Z scale for 43 years and I've been building and modifying models longer than that. I suspect that I'll be able to figure out how to get the boxcars on the chassis but any help would be appreciated. One will be for me to run while ...

Re: T&W (Triplett & Western)

I've made some progress on the layout. All of the track is installed, wired and operating reliably. The clearances for the tunnels through the mountain are fixed and the mountain is in rough condition. Next to do is finish the mountain and work on some kind of town.

T&W (Triplett & Western)

Layout1.jpg I've been working on my new T scale layout. I've been waiting for a while for N.A. prototype equipment to be available and, thanks to several designers on Shapeways and the new GP loco from Trainaidsa now available, it's time I get some trains running. I've come up with a layout that wi...

Re: Introductions

Hi Everybody! My name is Thom Welsch. I live in the St. Louis, Missouri area of the United States. I've been modeling trains in Z scale since Marklin introduced it here in 1972. I've got Z-Bend Track modules that I take to shows with other members of the MidweZt HaulerZ, a Z scale module group that ...
