Re: OzRailways Flying Scotsman

Joe,
You did an excellent job of painting the Flying Scotsman loco and tender. I agree that some decals for the driving wheels should improve the look.

Great job!

That's bigger than my 5' x 14" layout. It looks like you're making good progress on it. I'm looking forward to seeing more of it.

Re: Trainaidsa

This is sad news. He had explained earlier that he was in poor health. My condolences go out to his family and friends. I would be interested to know what happens to the T scale stuff he had since he had the exclusive North American GP-style loco and some container cars. I hope someone can pick up t...

Re: New Shapeways feature.....

Hi Malcolm, I don't know of any foolproof search that only displays T scale/gauge stuff. You can see all of a designers stuff by clicking on "Visit Shop" up near the designer's name. The best way to keep track of things you want to find again is to click on either "Favorite" or "Wishlist" located ri...

Great Train Shows

Hello again everybody, The "new and improved" version of the Triplett & Western will make it's next appearance July 25 & 26, 2015 at the Great Train Show from 10am until 4pm both days at the Belle-Clair Fairgrounds in Belleville, Illinois. I've removed the incline of the main oval and added another ...

Re: Pennsylvania EMD FP7 A-B-A

Hi Joe, Thanks for the compliment on my E8s...they're hand painted...I like yours better, though. The LED I used is from one of the old 103 or Hankyu 9000 units that I have laying around. You should be able to buy it wherever you buy your T scale trains. It comes on a really small PCB. You only need...

Re: Pennsylvania EMD FP7 A-B-A

I used electrically conductive paint to get a light onto a 47mm power chassis. I applied a small dab of paint to both of the contact strips on the LED and both of the contacts on the chassis. I, carefully, lined them up and gently pressed them together to get the paint to mingle. I set it aside to d...

Re: T&W (Triplett & Western)

Well, I've started to remodel my T scale layout. The 2-day train show I did allowed me to find the weak areas. I've removed the incline. It was too steep and too abrupt. I've also removed the points....one of them was causing problems with stalling/hesitating for all of my locos. I've also decided t...

Re: Galesburg Railroad Days

Well, The train show is over for this year. The trains ran fairly well but I've discovered that the plug-in power cables aren't very reliable. I'll be soldering the wires to the rail joiners to improve reliability. I had 50 business-size cards with info about Talking T Gauge and places to buy T scal...

Re: Galesburg Railroad Days

Doug, thanks for your advice. I've been doing train shows since the early 1990s so I'm very familiar with the routine. I'll also have my Z scale modules and my girlfriend from Indianapolis will be bringing her modules to join me. This will just be the first time for the T scale layout at a 2-day sho...

Grahame,

Your loco shell looks GREAT!
I used a small file to open a slot for the front coupler on my E8 shell.

Re: T&W (Triplett & Western)

Thanks for the compliments. The GP is the only powered unit. The tank car is from Trainaidsa and the rest are from Shapeways. The boxcar in front and the caboose are Jessie's and the second boxcar is Neil's.
