Re: Smoking QTT/T Gauge steam locomotive

Hello Joe, sorry that I'm answering so late, I have not get any info mail about your post. The bodies of the 18 201, the S1 and the Flying Scotsman are made with 0.1mm copper sheet metal. The body of the Mallard I milled complete from a piece of ebony wood free hand with a PROXXON. The 18 201 is par...

Re: GG1

By the way, Alan works on new wheels, if you are waiting for something, you can build the GG1 prototypical and with better reduction. C + 1 should be suitable drive wheels.

Re: GG1

Such a metal plate can be produced in 10 minutes. You only need the scissors of a Swiss army knife and a center punch.

Re: GG1

Hey Joe, why so complicated, just make such metal plates as I do, for example, at the tender for the MALLARD, and then glue on them 3D printed blinds.

You must to begin building something yourself, not ever only putting ready parts together!

Much more important for a good drive is that behind a very large gear not a very small gear is placed.

Du bist schon ein elender Rechthaber, Siggi! (-:
Was bleibt denn noch übrig von der Krümmung, wenn das Zahnrad nur noch ein Drittel der Dicke hat? Ist doch vernachlässigbar!
Aber dokumentiere deine angeblich durchgeführten Tests doch bitte mal per Video!

Re: GG1

Hello Joe, what is the diameter of your drive wheels? 3.2mm would be true to scale 1:450. And how many teeth have the gears of the driven axles? If there are only 10 teeth, the reduction is only 2.4: 1! Then the motor must really be from a other star, because your GG1 drives in the video really sati...

Hello Joe, I would have to lie if I wrote here that I find your drive good. But I also understand that it's hard to start all over again.

Great locomotive!
Basically I would build the GG1 like that:

It even fits a 6mm diameter motor, for example a very strong MAXON:

For this, only the gears Zx would have to be larger.

Thank you, Joe.
Show some pictures of your GG1 project! But better make a new thread, it does not fit the topic here.

Re: Smallest T-Gauge loco?

No, it's small! (-;
So small that it is very difficult to make a sharp video. Also drives a locomotive with only two axles and small wheels not as good as steam locomotives with large wheels.

Re: Smoking QTT/T Gauge steam locomotive

Here is the smoke generator with 0.2mm wire and 5 ohms:

As smoke substance, I use the viscous UHU Superglue SUPER.
It burns to white powder, which can be easily removed with a brush.

Re: Smoking QTT/T Gauge steam locomotive

A3_RauchgeneratorMit02Draht5Ohm.jpg The photo shows the first smoke generator with 0.2mm wire, 5 Ohms. This smoked very strong, but the locomotive did not drive. https://youtu.be/7wKmhO6dFqc The video shows the second generator with 0.1 mm wire, 15 Ohms. As you can see, he smokes very weakly, but t...
