Re: GERMAN Schnellzuglokomotive BR01 steam loco

Update:

the isolation is very simple by using plastic chassis with glued current collectors

and so I willl run next tests with the new chassis.

Re: GERMAN shunting engine BR89 steam lokomotive

not planned yet.

I´m very very sure that nobody may pay the real value of contruction, assembly and material

my work shows what's possible not what's buyable - and there is still a lot possible :D

Re: The Bridges at Saltash

Hi Doug,

will you use bistable relays to store the polarity in the middle track part until you change the direction?

Re: The Bridges at Saltash

Hi Dough,

the tracks in the middle of your point look like soldered and shorted - is it a machanical sample only without electrical functionality ?

Hi Doug,

the actual points have a lenght of 42 railway sleepers - will your perfect point also fit into that frame?

Hi Uwe,

sorry - I did several tests:

the convex gear in combination with a turning bogie is running much better than a smaller gear without convex face

convex wide gear is better than square sharp-edged small gear

Siegfried

Re: GG1

Hi Joe, your new loco is running fine - but I´m getting stomachache when I´m looking at the bearing bores: how long will a plastic axle run in a epoxy bore? the harsh epoxy surface will grind down the gear axles over time - very very sure :( BR, Siegfried PS: what is the total reduction ratio? 15:...

Re: GG1

Hi Joe, I also prefer your solution instead a worm gearing. Very important is the fact, that the big gear out of the chassis it the only one which is driving the turnable bogie correctly because it is convex ! Re: GERMAN Schnellzuglokomotive BR01 steam loco

First test of my German BR01 with new steam wheel current collectors.

Slow approach is the big challenge of micromechanics and will be improved again by special contact springs on steam wheel back side

pls, join the test video https://youtu.be/QkSpo0t-ow8

Re: GERMAN Schnellzuglokomotive BR01 steam loco

Today I received the new BR01 housing and chassis made of brass. Both new parts are precision casting products. The quality is excellent and is very sure the root of a small series. With his update I show the development history of my BR01 locomotive BR01_Entwicklung_Chassis.jpg At first I milled a ...
