Re: Box Model "Viaduct"

I have cut a channel for a dry fit of the completed viaduct section which has been glued together, painted and weathered. The river has to be re-directed between the supports so I have removed a few areas of the landscape.

Re: Box Model "Viaduct"

OK. Viaduct sections have arrived. Thanks Doug. I have cleaned them up and removed support structures. After a light sanding joined 2 at a time (easier to handle for paintng/weathering) and filled gaps with car body filler. Fine sanding then painting with water based acrylic then dry brush weatherin...

Re: Box Model "Viaduct"

Thanks for your kind comments. I don't mind sharing my techniques as I enjoyed learning how others designed and built their models when I first joined. It was very inspiring. I am just waiting for some viaduct segments to be printed and I will add them to the model. It shouldn't take too long for th...

Box Model "Viaduct"

Hi There, It's been a while since I've made a contribution to Talking T Gauge. I've been very busy with my studies at City of Glasgow College over the past year. I have just completed year 1 of a 2 year HND in Model Making for the Creative Industries and I am loving every minute of it. After a caree...

I don't think they are. I liked them but they were very fragile. Great for realistic painting. Not sure how I'd paint the acrylic ones.

BR,

The tunnels came from Tgauge.com a while back when they supplied plaster cast versions which were hand painted by my self using acrylic paint.

Re: Portable T-Guage box model

Sneak preview. Here are some images of my complete T-gauge box model. Housed in an solid Oak toolbox type case. The theme is a ravine with an oval of track entering and exiting a tunnel over two girder bridges. It's a fully working prototype model. There are two small boxes within which can hold acc...

Re: Portable T-Guage box model

The first Box Model is now in a box, but no pictures quite yet. After a little fine tuning it will be complete and photographed this week I hope. It will be housed in an Oak toolbox type case with steel corner protectors and lock catches. The model landscape is encased in 3mm Oak ply. The insert has...

Congratulations Doug on winning these fantastic awards at Model Rail Scotland 2017. "Best Non-association Layout" and "Best in Show". Well deserved indeed. I love this. It's so good to see people designing and modelling from scratch in this gauge. I look forward to seeing the finished model presentation.

Brilliant!!

Re: The Bridges at Saltash

Interesting location there Doug. Quite a busy city landscape with lots of buildings. Looks amazing on Google Street view! I've had some thoughts about the possibility of looping the track (yellow) out to the edges like "The Bridge" and taking it underneath the inner edge of a curved "C" shaped layou...

T-gauge Leather Suitcase model

I picked up an old leather suitcase the other day. This will be the housing for my second T-gauge model. I'm in full research mode at the moment. Google earth street view has been particularly useful for different types of bridges and crossings mainly. I'm hoping to take advantage of the depth avail...

Re: Portable T-Guage box model

Just made some trees for the box model. Looking forward to adding them in. Garden wire and copper strand and PVA seems to work fine. Foliage from Javis Countryside Scenics. Burnt Umber Acrylic for colour. Magnifying glass and tweezers essential.

Re: Portable T-Guage box model

Was hoping to make a longer video but having problems upgrading to a new version of iMovie. That's why it's a short single clip. I shot plenty of clips but just haven't been able to cut them together.
