Re: My range of power units......

Very nice work indeed! The flexible nature of decals is very useful. Good to see, might use the same approach for some Austrian stock if I ever find time for that :)

Re: Crianlarich trials

Hi Malcolm, the gate is etched. The poles are made by simple wires cut in short pices, sprayed in brown color and put into prepared small holes on the grass.

Re: Crianlarich trials

Putting everything together Ok, now it gets really exciting – I put my 25 trees plus the bridge plus a little bit of etched fencing on the diorama. And here we are: just there in Crianlarich! Seen from most angles, it is not too obvious that track is still missing :) http://up.picr.de/30084685bv....

Re: Crianlarich trials

Hi zdrada69, of course I have seen your trees! :) They look great. Especially the last image. Thanks for the hint to the Polak fine turf. That is for sure useful. But now, let's have a look on http://up.picr.de/30054736ys.jpg The Fillan Viaduct After having estimated all measurements from satellite ...

Re: Crianlarich trials

This is TGV style progress ! Well  actually this is not really real time footage, just sorting the material and writing up part by part. Today, let's talk about Trees What is obvious from the prototype image is that one thing is required most: trees. So, at one point in the process of buildin...

Re: Crianlarich trials

Dear Collegues, thanks for your encouraging comments. Graham, currently I just plan a diorama without any other tracks. Maybe in a second step, I will add fiddle yards on both ends. The following plan shows how a potential Crianlarich layout could look like. According to my literature research, this...

Crianlarich trials

I had the chance to physically visit a tiny village with a long railway history - Crianlarich - after a conference visit in Glasgow. This was only possible thanks to long daylight in the north in summer. Thanks to this trip, my T modelling activities have gained a certain critical mass again. Why Cr...

Hi Doug,

Just bought the issue because I needed to see the article. Looks great. Especially the title picture! How was that made?

Congratulations from Vienna

Re: Z scale narrow gauge trains

Hi. That looks really really good! I tried some narrow gauge in T as well, but the chassis chaked a lot due to the relative high center of gravity. Did you have this Problem as well?

Cheers from Austria

Re: Points / Turnouts

Hi there, Jumping on this train, I wonder if anyone can tell me what exact material Eishido uses for the rails. Or is this their well-kept secret... :) I made some point-building exercise here with spring steel, but it seems not to give the requires magnetic adhesion. Does anyone have a hint? Cheers...

Re: Ribblehead T gauge layout

Hi, probably this is too late, but I tried ballast from Koemo for Z scale and it looks better than the t gauge ballast because the stones are not so round. Anyway, from 50 cm viewing distance there is no difference :)

Wow, the turntable looks impressive! Do you have the necessary machine available?
I would actually fresh up the layout a little bit and at least avoid tracks in parallel to the layout edges. Do you plan to use Eishido points?
