NEW FREE TRACK PLANNING SOFTWARE for T GAUGE
Simple Computer Aided Railway Modeller (SCARM) is an excellent, free PC based track planning software. It supported many scales except for T Gauge. In December 2013 I contacted the SCARM developer about adding T Gauge planning capability. After sending him Eishindo T Gauge Track specifications, the ...

Re: Initial hand-laid track prototype
For this particular prototype, I believe I used .036 inch diameter piano wire.

Jesse,
Thank you for posting the decal transfer information.
Where do you get the electronic train decal designs to print?

Re: Brainstorm on going digital
I too am a fan of the decoder in the trailing car(s). Rationale: it's risky, cutting edge AND no one has done it before, or in the very least posted a youtube video of it. I run O Scale (3 Rail) locos via DCC & DCS and love the results. Still waiting on my T-Gauge starter set to ship from tgauge.com...

Re: Brainstorm on going digital
With this block method, could you run multiple independent units on the same track? What would this block method offer over tradition T-Gauge transformer control? I like the brainstorming. Thanks for starting it. Hi all, Coming from the scale HO having DCC decoders in the locomotives I was wondering...

Re: Brainstorm on going digital
Correct, a decoder would have to be connected to each motor. Though, it is possible to connect a single decoder to 2 motors. If you ran a T-Gauge steam locomotive, the decoder might fit in the trailing tender. Slarge, you raise several valid concerns, such as the micro pin connector, etc. My first s...

Re: Brainstorm on going digital
JoostV, One idea might be to replace the decoder wires with the smallest possible gauge, perhaps kynar. Then install the decoder in the non motorized car directly behind the motorized locomotive and place a flexible diaphragm between the two cars to hide the wires. Refer to attached picture. Others ...

Not sure if this helps but you might enjoy it. Here's a video of a GARRATT Steam Locomotive on an African themed T-gauge layout.

Re: Starter Recommendations?
Mattd10, WOW, those intermodal containers look phenomenal! Mixing the container lengths would be a nice touch. I'm going with that suggestion. I've modeled O Scale trains for some time & have found modeling European & Asian rolling stock difficult due to limited selection. That's one thing I enjoy a...

Re: Starter Recommendations?
NeilM, I appreciate your input. DIY decal printing is another avenue I hope to explore soon. I'm stoked about the adjustable chassis, as there is plenty to tinker with. I like the photo printed to correct scale idea. I can't tell but is the Maersk livery I posted a photo? It would be great to see so...

Re: Starter Recommendations?
Mattd10, Perhaps I'll become a master T-Gauge livery painter when my electron microscope arrives? Just kidding, no way in heck am I going to paint the Maersk livery. Perhaps something to aspire to? In the mean time, I'm going to keep it simple and go with the paper livery. If I achieve this me...
