Great job on your passenger cars. You cannot tell that it is plain paper!

Thanks .... I actually very lightly sanded the edges to make them look flush.
I'm following your work, both here and in the air, with utter fascination and not a little envy .... :)

The edges do look good!

This is actually my time of the year that I work on, and fly my planes. However, I am trying to due both trains and planes. Its not easy finding time!

Another idea put forward by the more advanced modelers that I'm just trying out is shortening the couplers

Besides shortening the coupler I found them much easier to install if I also trimmed the little peg a bit
