The TGauge.com sensors is just normal IR sensors right?

I noticed nobody has replied to this one, so...

Yep, they are just a plain IR LED with detector. Without tearing one apart, I cannot say what wire does what.

I'm currently evaluating a miniature combined IR emitter/receiver that may be just the job for use under trackwork.

I received a few in the post yesterday; I need to work them into a detector circuit and try them out with detecting locos/rolling stock. I'll report how I get on with them...….
