The GCR Model Event 2016

Postby dkightley » Tue Aug 25, 2015 12:26 am

Hope I'm not pre-empting anything....but I think I can confirm the first appearance of The Bridge at the Greal Central Railway's Model Event which is being held on Fri/Sat/Sun 17th, 18th & 19th June 2016.

Hopefully, the layout will create a bit of a buzz at the show....and consequently, I'm putting out an early request now for offers of help to man the layout from fellow T Gauge enthusiasts.

The show is being held at Quorn...which is approx 7 miles north of Leicester & a couple of miles south of Loughborough.

Anyone who may be interested in helping out, please PM me.

I've now received and completed the official paperwork for The Bridge to appear at the GCR Model Event.

So....no slacking, no excuses....I have to finish it!!

And as I stated in my original post of this thread, I'd really appreciate somebody from the forum to come along and give me a hand demonstrating what I hope will be the star layout of the show

Hi Doug. Unfortunately I work a random shift pattern which I won't know until the month before, but if I'm free I will definitely come and give you a hand with it if you need.

That's brill, Matt.

One thing I did forget to mention.....at the show you do get close and personal with 1:1 railways!. The whopper of a marquee the displays are in is right next to the heritage track....and every half hour a chuff-chuff goes past!!

Well, the show weekend is getting nearer....and the layout looks as if it'll be ready in time.

I have a hire van organised. It's probably an overkill, but for the first show, I'm not sure how much I'll be wanting to haul over to the show, and have no idea how much space I'll need.

I'm still on the lookout for some help on two of the three show days. So if anyone has some spare time, and wants to come along and help, I'll be eternally grateful for some help on the Saturday and Sunday. I have a spare ticket for an "operator"....which includes free refreshments and a packed lunch. PM me if you're interested....
