Woha, this is huge! How big is the layout in real-life terms?

Hi there
I will be doing some pics of the T gauge layout now that I have worked out the platforms.
This layout will be in the main a 7 foot by 1 and half foot wide.

Actual real layout what i was intending working from would have been just short of 2km.

Can not wait till I get the basics down, but will cost a lot for the track alone.boohoo.

regards

Hi There
I have just taken my first shot at building this layout in T Gauge.
Heres some pics of the platforms for that speak view.

I am using a 1mm cork base for sound reduction and for better running.

Will keep you all posted as things progress.

pics here

hope you enjoy.
regards
Graham

How easy did you find cutting and laying the cork?

Did not do the cork well as I think it should have been placed as full sheets then platforms on top, but you learn.

Will be painting all the cork anyway and will be redoing a second coat for the platforms as they are too shinny even in matt.

Printed out the shapes for the platforms by 3D print which was easy until you have to reduce them down to 1.450 scale.

I will not be using too many points as this will keep the production costs down and for a simplified version as I will be running 4 running tracks and platforms 1 to 6 as a one ended loop back.

I tried to print this on my Da-vinci 3D printer bu tit came out wrong so i have done it out of plastic-card ,also did a card board version as i could work out the pixel ratios first.

will keep you all posted.
