GERMAN Schnellzuglokomotive BR01 steam loco

Postby rail450 » Wed Nov 02, 2016 8:17 pm

Hello,

when I found the new steam wheels at tgauge.com I reanimated my dream of the steam loco BR01:

The N model at scale 1:160 was scanned via 3D scanner, downsized to 1:450 and printed

A hellow cylinder with diameter of 4mm was placed within the steam boiler and a servo motor was inserted.

Next steps will follow soon.

Hey cool! A steam wheel project! I am very curious how it goes on. The first images look very promising!
Cheers

Oh yes, this looks fascinating. Keep an eye on this one. I'm intrigued by that thin motor with the worm screw. Never seen one of those before. Where does that come from?

I see; it's the motor out of the servo. Is that a motor and gearbox and did it have the worm already on it?

It is a motor without gearbox and the worm was pressed on by me

Gosh, a worm that small would come in handy for me. Where did you get it from? Can you get gears that small aswell from the same place? I'd love to be able to get the gears that make up a T gauge motor system separate rather than buy a system and take it apart.

More than 1 year ago I did some exercises in developing a steam wheel driven chassis:

Now I will do it again with the new steam wheels from Tgauge.com

Thanks very much for the link Siegfried. My browser won't show the photos, don't know why. I'm hoping to see some of this tiny gear stuff at a show shortly here in the UK called the Warley Show.

Very interesting what you are doing. I presume the Shicoh motor and gearbox is too awkward to alter to fit.
