Class 158 DMU Class

Postby gbtrains » Mon Jul 04, 2016 8:31 pm

Hi
I was wondering if anybody can do a Class 158 DMU 2 and 3 car units as i have got the class 156 and the class 150 from shapeways, but needing the class 158 to complete the modern look railway.
If anyone can do this .please do so as I will be needing at least 3 to 4 class 158 dmu sets.

Regards
Graham

Hello! I have a 158 all drawn up and on shapeways, however I've not made it available because I don't have a chassis to test it on. I'm more than happy to release it if you want to order one to see?

Hi Graham,

Here is a link to the product:

https://www.shapeways.com/product/4BLMRK5J2/t-gauge-class-158

You can see everything else in my shop there too (none of which is yet available). The only reason i've not made it available beforehand is I don't have any motor units the correct size to do a test fitting. I did get a test print though and it looks pretty good to me!

If you do order one, please let me know what you think and I'll make any changes if necessary!

Hope you like them! From memory I designed them to fit on the 23m chassis, but with the narrow body shape I think I had to make some compromises so a chassis could fit. Hopefully it'll all work out okay!

Hi Graham

How are the units? I saw on another thread that you've painted them up! Any feedback or anything with the design that could be changed or tweaked?

Would be great to see some pictures too!

Hi matt
Yes they are looking great in the Northern Rail Livery.
Only one thing to note is that the bottom part of the model,I think that this should just be flat rather than a pitched bottom in between the bogies.

will post up date of picture when i get the chance.
