Another boring question from me - fitting chassis

Postby Nutter » Fri Oct 06, 2017 9:20 am

How have people secured Shapeways body shells on Motorized chassis?
I have 2 body shells that are a loose fit and need them to stay put when removing the stock from the track.

I had a problem with a couple of my own DMU shells vibrating and lifting up at one end.....which caused them to jam on one of the cross-girders on The Bridge.

My solution was crude....but effective. A tiny blob of blue-tak placed on top of the power unit chassis....away from the slot where the gears sit!! Press the shell down to squidge the blue-tak.....and job done!

I just have to re-group the blob each time I remove and replace the shell.
