Update from t-gauge.com....
I only wonder how the chip position will affect our 3D printed body shells

Looks as if Alan has managed to get some decoders already!

And the answer to the question re effect on shells.....probably none. The decoder will fit into the larger units underneath the busbars at the non-drive end. Not sure which of the sizes will be too small.

Moving onto to my own developments.....to track detectors. I've had mixed success with LDR sensors...the main issue being caused by relying on ambient light. I've had too much (at GCR) and interruptions (waving arms and/or fingers)....so for my DCC work, I'm creating my Mk2 sensors....and I'm having to do them in single track, double track, and even triple track versions. Here's a development single track sensor:

The LED is inside the top of the arch with its supply running up one side from below the track level.

The underside......containing the LDR itself....with the connecting wires appearing from the small slot. The live versions will have light shields to keep stray light out.

I've probably made work for myself by having solder connection both above and below the track level.....but once they're on...they'll probably not be coming off again.

For Saltash, I'll need five single, two double, and two triple sets of sensors

Hi Doug,

I´m very very shure that it´s possible to detect the magnetic wheels with a hall sensor.

This kind of sensor is very small and immune against any kind of ambient light.

The decoder is made by CT Elektroniks and is the DCX65.....so the best place would be somewhere near you that stocks DCC systems made by CT.

Here's a link to the manufacturer's website: http://www.tran.at/Produkte/DCX65.shtml

When did you order and when get your parts?

I know from dealers that there is no respons from tran.at.

I informed this forum about this ultra small decoder by Jun 14th under "Talking T Gauge Forum ‹ T Gauge Custom Rolling Stock - New Digital Decoder for T-Gauge"

I failed in ordering this decoder since Jun 14th.

Is the product still alive? Is tran.at still alive?

Thanks for this, Siegfried. I've started making enquiries as to the current situation......and I'll report back what I find out.

I have been in email contact with CT Elektronik. They have told me that they are manufacturing and distributing the CTX65 decoder....however they are having some technical issues in the manufacturing process that are preventing them from fulfilling orders.....for which they have asked I pass on their sincere apologies for. They are working on the issues.....but have not given any indication as to when they will be able to fulfil outstanding orders.

I will of course keep an eye on the situation......
